You don’t start out writing good stuff. You start out writing crap and thinking it’s good stuff, and then gradually you get better at it. That’s why I say one of the most valuable traits is persistence.” -Octavia E. Butler
I studied human physiology all day today. More specifically, oxygen transport and the cardiac cycle. Some folks go outside and enjoy their Saturday, and I have in the past, but right now I am on a mission! The pragmatic and secure mission is to become a nurse, and that ain’t easy. Shout out to all nurses because you all are some smart and well educated folks! The impractical and not so secure side is my dream to become a writer/author/storyteller. Well that I already am, but the true mission is to become not only good, but successful. I know that it is possible, and among creative people is where I belong! Another thing happened today to help me to realize that. An author on Instagram created a post “Authors supporting authors” and she asked that everyone like, comment and follow all who performed the 3 steps. I did so and I discovered a bunch of Instagrammers who love to create stories just like me. What I loved is the love and support shown in this gesture. I read quite a few snippets of materials from them, and I realized my own shortcomings. It caused me to momentarily question myself. I then saw the above quote by Octavia Butler today and I felt much better! My advice believe in yourself and chase your dreams!
